A CASE CONTROL STUDY
RESPIRATORY DISTRESS FOLLOWING WATER BIRTH

This data indicates that water birth babies can have morbidities similar to babies admitted with respiratory distress after being born by NVD. It is possible and indeed likely that their morbidity is attributable to water aspiration, and therefore largely avoidable if delivery into water is not chosen.
