El trabajo examina la morbilidad perinatal y la prevalencia de encefalopatía hipóxico-isquémica en un grupo de neonatos a término nacidos tras una rotura uterina durante el parto

La rotura uterina es un evento centinela que asocia una alta tasa de morbilidad perinatal en el recién nacido a término (bajas puntuaciones de Apgar, acidosis, necesidad de reanimación avanzada), así como un elevado riesgo de encefalopatía hipóxico-isquémica. Uno de cada tres niños nacidos tras rotura uterina experimenta encefalopatía hipóxico-isquémica, y uno de cada cinco muestra problemas neurológicos en el seguimiento.
