Revisión de la posible asociación beneficiosa de las grasas monoinsaturadas, especialmente el aceite de oliva, con la presión arterial

GRASAS MONOINSATURADAS, ACEITE DE OLIVA Y PRESION ARTERIAL: ¿UNA POSIBLE ASOCIACION BENEFICIOSA?

Diversos estudios epidemiológicos y en laboratorio analizaron la posible relación entre la ingesta de grasas monoinsaturadas y los niveles de presión arterial o el riesgo de hipertensión. La evidencia conjunta de estos trabajos apunta hacia un posible efecto beneficioso de este tipo de grasas, especialmente cuando provienen del aceite de oliva. Diversos mecanismos fisiopatológicos podrían explicar esta asociación.
