Resumen
Los hemangiomas cardíacos forman parte de las neoplasias primarias benignas del corazón, aunque su incidencia es baja, pueden afectar a personas de cualquier sexo y edad. El hemangioma cardíaco es una proliferación benigna de células endoteliales que forman canales vasculares. Se han descrito cinco tipos histológicos, con afección de cualquiera de las estructuras del corazón y de cualquiera de sus cámaras. Al igual que todos los tumores cardíacos pueden simular varios síndromes clínicos, entre los que predominan el síndrome de insuficiencia cardíaca y las embolias periféricas. Los actuales métodos complementarios de diagnóstico no invasivo, especialmente la ecocardiografía y la resonancia magnética, posibilitaron el aumento del número de diagnósticos preautopsia de estas patologías. El tratamiento más adecuado es la cirugía con resección del tumor, pero se probó la radioterapia y el interferón en algunos casos. Realizamos una nueva revisión de la literatura aportando los últimos hallazgos y presentaciones de esta rara enfermedad.
