Treatment of intrabony defects with ceramic bone graft materials was found to be effective as compared to open flap debridement procedures but this must be interpreted with caution as these biomaterials are used as void fillers or scaffolds as they cannot be used in areas of high function or stress unless they are used in combination with Osteoinductive materials.
