Los eventos cerebrovasculares son causas de discapacidad a nivel mundial; en 1996 se estableció un lapso de tres horas o menos para ofrecer el beneficio de la trombólisis.

CÓDIGO ICTUS. EVALUACIÓN MÉDICA POR UN SERVICIO DE ATENCIÓN PREHOSPITALARIA

En el tratamiento del accidente cerebrovascular agudo el manejo prehospitalario tiene relevancia para ofrecer el beneficio de la trombólisis. Se analizaron 21 pacientes divididos en dos grupos según el pronóstico funcional final. No hubo significación estadística en el resultado con la trombólisis. El estado neurológico inicial sí se correlacionó con el pronóstico final del paciente.
