Este trabalho sugere que a gênese da doença gordurosa do fígado de causa não alcóolica é desencadeada por mecanismos diferentes entre os sexos.

DIFERENÇAS NO METABOLISMO DE ADOLESCENTES DO (DEL) SEXO FEMININO E MASCULINO COM DOENÇA (ENFERMEDAD) GORDUROSA DO FÍGADO (HÍGADO) DE CAUSA NÃO ALCÓOLICA, DETECTADA POR ULTRA-SOM

As adolescentes com doença gordurosa do fígado de causa não alcóolica (DGFCNA) mostraram um comportamento metabólico diferente dos meninos. Futuros estudos podem aprofundar o papel das diferenças metabólicas existentes entre os sexos na gênese da DGFCNA.
