Nosso artigo demonstra o efeito micobactericida da redução de colesterol do hospedeiro através do uso da atorvastatina.

ESTATINAS COMO NOVA ARMA (NUEVA ARMA PARA EL CONTROL DE LA) NO CONTROLE DA HANSENÍASE E TUBERCULOSE

Demonstramos que a redução dos níveis de colesterol em macrófagos e camundongos através do uso de atorvastatina inativa as micobactérias responsáveis pela hanseníase (M. leprae) e tuberculose (M. tuberculosis), além de potencializar o efeito da rifampicina.
