Los antagonistas del receptor H1 de la histamina inducen apoptosis en diferentes líneas tumorales humanas

EFECTO ANTITUMORAL DE LOS ANTIHISTAMINICOS H1 EN LINEAS TUMORALES HUMANAS

Los antagonistas del receptor H1 de la histamina (difenhidramina, terfenadina, astemizol y triprolidina) inducen muerte celular por apoptosis en diferentes líneas celulares de leucemia linfoblástica aguda y melanoma cutáneo humano. Sin enbargo, en células no tumorales como fibroblastos embrionarios y linfocitos humanos obtenidos de sangre periférica, los antihistamínicos inhiben la proliferación celular pero no producen apoptosis. Estos resultados sugieren el potencial terapéutico de estas drogas en el tratamiento de algunos cánceres humanos.
