Revisión de los aspectos fisiopatológicos de la anemia de los trastornos crónicos

ANEMIA DE LOS TRASTORNOS CRONICOS. AVANCES EN MECANISMOS FISIOPATOLOGICOS Y TRATAMIENTO

La anemia de los trastornos crónicos (ACS) constituye una de las causas más frecuentes de anemia en la práctica clínica. En los últimos años se avanzó considerablemente en la compresión de los mecanismos fisiopatológicos, especialmente en la regulación de la homeostasis del hierro y la compleja relación entre éste y la inmunidad. En lo que respecta al tratamiento, se intenta optimizar las indicaciones de la eritropoyetina especialmente en la ACS asociada al cáncer.
