El trabajo sugiere la posibilidad de que Chlamydia trachomatis produzca una infección sistémica en neonatos

INFECCION NEONATAL SISTEMICA POR CHLAMYDIA TRACHOMATIS

Es un caso clínico que sustenta la posibilidad de que Chlamydia trachomatis pueda infectar sistémicamente a los recién nacidos de madres infectadas genitalmente por este patógeno, según los hallazgos de PCR positiva para Chlamydia trachomatis en líquido cefalorraquídeo, orina, riñón, pulmón y corazón e inmunofluroescencia directa positiva en cultivo celular de aspirado bronquial del neonato. La presencia de infección por esta bacteria también se demostró por PCR en el exudado cervical materno y uretral paterno.
