SCIENTIFIC AWARENESS IN AYURVEDA STUDENTS AND PRACTITIONERS

Awareness about bibliographic databases was assessed in Ayurveda undergraduates, post graduates, and older practitioners. It was highest among undergraduates, followed by practitioners, and postgraduates were lowest. This could be due to a shift from complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) practice based on tradition and intuition towards evidence-based practice in undergraduates. There is a need to introduce courses on evidence-based practice in CAM institutes.
