The role of school teachers in oral health promotion among children
ORAL HEALTH PROMOTION THROUGH TEACHERS AMONG RURAL SCHOOL CHILDREN

The study found that teachers could be effectively utilized for health and oral health promotion among school children. The frequent interaction by teachers was more effective than infrequent interactions by dental professionals. The children in rural areas require oral hygiene aids besides teacher’s motivation for such interventions to be effective.

Promoción de la Salud Oral a través de sus Maestros en los Alumnos de una Escuela Rural

Este estudio demostró que los maestros pueden ser un elemento útil en la promoción de la salud y de la salud oral en niños en edad escolar. La interacción frecuente entre alumnos y docentes fue más eficaz que la intervención más infrecuente por profesionales de la salud dental. Los niños en áreas rurales requieren de un suministro de elementos para la higiene oral además de la motivación docente para que estas intervenciones sean útiles.
