POSIBLE UTILIDAD DE LOS RECEPTORES PARA IMIDAZOLINAS I2 PARA EL DIAGNOSTICO Y PRONOSTICO DE TUMORES GLIALES HUMANOS

Los tumores gliales son el tipo de neoplasia cerebral más común en humanos y suponen alrededor del 35% de los tumores primarios intracraneales. Un grave obstáculo en la evaluación clínica y el tratamiento de los gliomas malignos es su tendencia a infiltrar el tejido cerebral periférico. Así, aunque las técnicas de neuroimágenes pueden actualmente establecer con alta probabilidad la presencia de una neoplasia intracraneal, a menudo fallan a la hora de establecer los límites infiltrativos del tumor más allá de la imagen normal (Earnest y col., 1988).
