THE ROLE OF EOSINOPHIL CATIONIC PROTEIN IN ALLERGIC INFLAMMATION
Eosinophil cationic protein (ECP) enhances cell growth of normal human dermal fibroblasts (NHDF). CNTF, NAP-2, and NT-3 may be participating inenhancing the growth of NHDF. These findings will contribute to determination of the role of ECP in allergic inflammation.

ELEVATED INTRAVITREAL IL-1BETA AND IL-10 LEVELS IN PDR
In order to determine the roles of IL-1beta and IL-10 in the vitreous of PDR, we measured IL-1beta and IL-10 concentration by ELISA. We found vitreous levels of IL-1beta and IL-10 were upregulated in PDR patients, and these two cytokines play roles in regulating the development and progression of PDR.
