Introducción:
El sistema nervioso periférico es una red compleja de nervios que integran de manera funcional distintas partes del cuerpo con el sistema nervioso central. Un porcentaje de las lesiones nerviosas periféricas se asocian con malos resultados funcionales, incapacidad de recuperación del nervio y pérdida de la función motriz y sensitiva, además de atrofia muscular y dolor crónico, entre otros.
