HELICOBACTER PYLORI INFECTION IN INDIA FROM A WESTERN PERSPECTIVE

Helicobacter pylori is an important human pathogen. Physicians in developing countries face several challenges in both diagnosis and treatment including costs, availability, treatment success rates and increased recurrence after therapy. We review the clinical consequences of infection, rationale for eradication, resistance patterns and treatment strategies in India.
