O trabalho procura reunir o conhecimento atual sobre a influência genética na evolução crônica das hepatites virais.

Cronicas de autores A INFLUÊNCIA DO GENOMA HUMANO NO CURSO DAS HEPATITES VIRAIS CRÔNICAS

Os estudos genéticos realizados em pacientes com hepatite viral crônica têm contribuído para o entendimento da sua patogênese. Vários alelos MHC foram correlacionados com evolução clínica mais favorável em pacientes com hepatite viral crônica B e C. Neste sentido, foram identificados em vários estudos 5 alelos relacionados com melhor evolução da hepatite viral B crônica, e cerca de 23 alelos foram correlacionados com melhor evolução da hepatite viral C crônica. Por outro lado, alguns estudos mostram correlação entre alelos específicos e um curso clínico menos favorável das hepatites virais crônicas B e C. A determinação da correlação entre genes específicos e a evolução das hepatites virais crônicas B e C, constitui o primeiro passo para o entendimento da patogênese dessas doenças. O próximo passo será correlacionar estes genes com respostas imunes específicas. Estes achados serão úteis no futuro para o desenvolvimento de estratégias terapêuticas apropriadas para controlar as hepatites virais, bem como melhorar o nosso conhecimento sobre os fatores determinantes do prognóstico dessas doenças. Um maior número de estudos genéticos, envolvendo diferentes populações, é necessário para que mais genes específicos que influenciam a evolução das hepatites virais crônicas possam ser identificados.
