La disección carotídea es una patología sumamente infrecuente, sobre todo si se produce en forma bilateral. La angiografía debería ser el mejor método para su diagnóstico. Su terapéutica constituye un verdadero desafío, puesto que al verse comprometidas ambas carótidas dificulta aun más la chance quirúrgica. El tratamiento endovascular podría ser una buena alternativa. La anticoagulación en estos pacientes estaría aceptada como tratamiento de base.
