El trabajo permite la observación e interpretación in vivo de los cambios que sufre la córnea con queratocono después de realizar crosslinking con radicción ultravioleta A y riboflavina.

ESTUDIO SECUENCIAL CON MICROSCOPIA CONFOCAL IN VIVO DE LOS CAMBIOS CORNEALES DESPUES DE REALZAR CROSSLINKING EN PACIENTES CON QUERATOCONO

Las córneas tratadas con crosslinking, si bien no sufren alteraciones significativas, presentan cambios celulares y tisulares inducidos por un mecanismo de cicatrización característico después de recibir radicación UV-A y riboflavina. Estos cambios alteran la estructura normal de la córnea y su celularidad incluso hasta 3 años luego del crosslinking.
