TERAPIA DE RESCATE EMPIRICA TRAS EL FRACASO DE DOS TRATAMIENTOS DE ERRADICACION DE HELICOBACTER PYLORI

La infección por Helicobacter pylori constituye la causa fundamental de gastritis crónica, úlcera gastroduodenal y cáncer gástrico. Más de 20 años después de haber aislado por primera vez esta bacteria, todavía no disponemos de un tratamiento ideal; así, las combinaciones más efectivas que incluyen, actualmente, un inhibidor de la bomba de protones junto con dos antibióticos, fracasan en aproximadamente 20% de los casos.
