Textos Completos Autorizados

Trials that turn from retrospectively registered to prospectively registered

Fuente:Trials

Tipo de trabajo:Estudio de cohortes

Extracto: Retroactively prospective trial registration happens in one in 50 trials. While these changes to the start date could be mistakes or legitimate edits based on the most up-to-date information, they could also indicate a retrospectively registered trial that has been made to appear as a prospectively registered trial, which would lead to biases unapparent to reviewers. Our results point to the need for more transparent reporting of changes to a trial's details and have implications for the review and conduct of clinical trials, with our fully automated and freely available tools allowing reviewers or editors to detect these changes. TRIAL REGISTRATION: The preregistered protocol of our study is available via https://osf.io/rvq53 . The most recent version of the protocol lists all deviations from the original study plan, including the rationale behind the changes, and additional analyses that were conducted.

Extracto: Most HCPs had adequate knowledge of bioethics, which is encouraging and would favor the laying foundation for forming a good bioethics framework. Only 3/5 HCPs demonstrated a favorable attitude, and the observed unethical practice is alarmingly common. A serious consideration to evaluate the compliance level of bioethics practice periodically and measures to educate, sensitize, and train bioethics among HCPs in Maharashtra is warranted.

What are the views of Quebec and Ontario citizens on the tiebreaker criteria for prioritizing access to adult critical care in the extreme context of a COVID-19 pandemic?

Fuente:Bmc Medical Ethics

Extracto: Life cycle was the preferred tiebreaker as this criterion respects intergenerational equity, which was considered relevant when allocating scarce resources to adult patients in a context of extreme pandemic. Priority to young patients is in line with other consultations conducted around the world. Additional studies are needed to further investigate the public acceptability of tiebreaker criteria.

Generative AI in healthcare: an implementation science informed translational path on application, integration and governance.

Fuente:Implementation Science Is

Extracto: It is strongly argued in this article that generative AI can usher in tremendous healthcare progress, if introduced responsibly. Strategic adoption based on implementation science, incremental deployment and balanced messaging around opportunities versus limitations helps promote safe, ethical generative AI integration. Extensive real-world piloting and iteration aligned to clinical priorities should drive development. With conscientious governance centred on human wellbeing over technological novelty, generative AI can enhance accessibility, affordability and quality of care. As these models continue advancing rapidly, ongoing reassessment and transparent communication around their strengths and weaknesses remain vital to restoring trust, realizing positive potential and, most importantly, improving patient outcomes.

Extracto: I advocate for a shift from qualitative positivism towards more interpretive and post-qualitative inquiries, this work proposes new trajectories through interpretive, critical, post-qualitative, and artistic turns in nursing research, aiming to transcend positivist limitations and foster a plurality of perspectives and research as praxis. Current practice of hospital-based palliative care teams: Advance care planning in advanced stages of disease: A retrospective observational study.

Fuente:Plos One

Extracto: This study provides detailed insight into consultations of palliative care teams and shows that even though most palliative care consultations were requested for advance care planning, consultations focus on end-of-life care and are more crisis-oriented than prevention-oriented. Death often occurs too quickly after consultation for end-of-life preferences to be met and these preferences tend to focus on dying. Educating healthcare professionals on when to initiate advance care planning would promote a more prevention-oriented approach. Defining factors that indicate the need for timely palliative care team consultation and advance care planning could help timely identification and consultation.
