Textos Completos Autorizados

Markers of neutrophil activation and some immune and haematological indices in malaria infection during pregnancy.

Markers of neutrophil activation and some immune and haematological indices in malaria infection during pregnancy.

Fuente:Bmc Immunology

Extracto: Malaria infection led to alterations in immune and haematological parameters in this group, with mild and moderate malaria parasitaemia in the study cohort. Although there were some significant differences, the assessed values remained mostly within the normal range. Further studies in a larger cohort assessing pregnant women infected with placental malaria and those with fatal outcomes are important to further investigate the role of NETs in malaria infection.

Identification of immune-related cervical cancer prognostic biomarkers and construction of prognostic model based on tumor microenvironment.

Identification of immune-related cervical cancer prognostic biomarkers and construction of prognostic model based on tumor microenvironment.

Fuente:European Journal of Medical Research

Extracto: Immune-related prognostic biomarkers in CC include HLA-DMA, DMBT1, CXCR6, CX3CL1, and SEMA3A. The risk score for the five genes is more accurate than that for other clinical risk factors in predicting prognosis at 3 and 5 years. The higher the risk score is, the worse the prognosis of CC patients is. Five prognostic biomarkers may participate in regulating TME through chemokine-mediated signaling pathways and receptor-ligand interactions. These findings provide new insights into the immunotherapy of CC.

Early-Life Exposure to Acid-Suppressive Therapy and the Development of Celiac Disease Autoimmunity.

Fuente:Jama Network Open

Tipo de trabajo:Estudio de cohortes

Extracto: AND RELEVANCE: This retrospective study included both cohort and test-negative case-control designs. In the cohort design, acid-suppressive therapy was significantly associated with celiac disease autoimmunity. In the test-negative case-control design, this association was not significant. These results suggest a residual confounding by health care utilization in cohort designs studying celiac disease and suggest a noncausal association between acid-suppressive therapy and celiac disease autoimmunity.

The clinician should be aware that the course of IgAV may be affected by the presence of FMF. TRIAL REGISTRATION: E2-24-6125, 21.01.2024, retrospectively registered. WHAT IS KNOWN: • In patients with familial Mediterranean fever (FMF), some vasculitides are more common and may affect the course of vasculitis. WHAT IS NEW: • At the time of immunoglobulin A vasculitis diagnosis, patients with FMF may have more system involvement, higher vasculitis activation scores, and acute phase reactants and require more intensive treatment than those without FMF.

Ovarian tissue cryopreservation for fertility preservation: a two-decade single-center experience with 451 children and adolescents.

Fuente:Reproductive Biology and Endocrinology Rb&e

Extracto: Children and adolescents represent a small subset of OTC patients, with indications linked to common pediatric malignancies. For active storage ≥ 10 years, they store longer than adults, likely due to delayed reproduction or awaiting in vitro growth / in vitro maturation in hematological cases. Overall, adults store longer, but adolescent storage has risen over time possibly due to higher child mortality and previously limited OTC use in younger patients. Mean ovarian cortex surface data may guide pediatric tissue harvest recommendations, with unilateral oophorectomy advised. Fertility preservation counseling and cost coverage should be standard for pediatric patients undergoing gonadotoxic treatment. A tailored approach to OTC indications is essential, especially in high-mortality cancers like leukemia or sarcoma. Favorable pregnancy rates observed, even without OTT, suggest possible OTC overutilization, highlighting the need for individualized strategies and careful clinical decision-making to balance risks and preserve reproductive potential.
